On November 20th and 21st, in conjunction with the Guild’s annual Holiday Sale, we opened our studio door to the first ever KPG Pop-up Pottery School – an initiative of the Guild’s Education Committee. At various hours during these two days, well over 170 visitors stopped in to the studio, interested in learning more about the pottery they would see at the Holiday Sale up in the Malting Tower.
Master potters Patty Petkovich, Elizabeth Munro and Wendy Lowe kept visitors fascinated, as they worked on the wheel and hand-building, all the while maintaining an entertaining running commentary to explain what they were doing and why. A display of clay, glaze ingredients and the results of the ceramics process was supplemented by a comprehensive hand-out detailing what makes a good pot, key stages in the process, and a list of useful pottery terms.
Our first Pop-up Pottery School was a success, so be sure to look out for one during the 2026 Spring Sale!
